The Pindari Glacier is a glacier found in the upper reaches of the Kumaon Himalayas, to the southeast of Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot. The glacier flows to the south for a short distance of about 3 km (1.9 mi) and gives rise to the Pindari River which meets the Alakananda at Karnaprayag in the Garhwal district.

The trail to reach the glacier crosses the villages of Saung, Loharkhet, crosses over the Dhakuri Pass, continues onto Khati village (the last inhabited village on the trail), Dwali, Phurkia and finally Zero Point, Pindar, the end of the trail. Though most of the trail is along the banks of the Pindari River, the river is mostly hidden until after Khati.

The Pindari Glacier trail provides for a 90 km (56 mi) round-trip trek that most people find comfortable to complete in six days.

  • Arrival Delhi
    Meet on arrival and transfer to the Hotel.
    Check in with traditional Indian Welcome at hotel.
    Our executive will be present at the hotel, before your arrival to fulfill all check-in formalities. 
    The hotel will serve you a welcome drink – Rose, Lemon water or soft drinks.

  • Delhi
    Morning: After breakfast, Proceed for sightseeing of Delhi with our Guide, Experience the rickshaw ride in Old Delhi through very narrow streets namely - Balli Maran, Kinari Bazar - (Cloth market), Masale Wali Gali – (Spice Market) etc
    Rest of the time is free to explore Connaught Place
    Dinner at own choice of restaurant.

  • Delhi – Kathgodam- Jim Corbett National Park (Ram Nagar)
    After bed tea and cookies, departure transfer to the Railway Station.
    Depart by Shatabdi Express train to Kathgodam. Breakfast on board.
    Arrive in Kathgodam and drive to Ramnagar where Jim Corbett National Park is located.
    Jim Corbett National Park is named after the famous tiger hunter and naturalist Sir Jim Corbett.
    It is one of the oldest Wildlife Sanctuaries in India and spread over 1200 sq. KS. The park is situated at bank of RiverKosi in the foothills of Himalayas.
    Arrive and enjoy evening with walk to the buffer zone of Tiger national park.

  • Jim Corbett National Park (Ram Nagar)
    After morning tea and cookies, proceed to the Tiger national park on open jeep with naturalist to spot the tigers.
    Return back to hotel for breakfast. Rest of day is for leisure.
    Optionally, proceed for park safari post lunch.

  • Jim Corbett National Park (Ram Nagar) - Bageshwar – Loharkhet (167 KS)
    After breakfast, drive to Bageshwar. 
    After having lunch hereat a local market, proceed to the Loharkhet. It offers a nice panoramic view from Loharkhet which is situated at 1760 Mts. from the sea level.
    Arrive and check in to hotel.

  • Loharkhet – Dhakuri (2680 Mts.) (10 KS)
    After having breakfastand with packed lunch trek towards Dhakuri, the first halt in this trek to Pindari and KaneGlacier. The trek is easy but quite steep and goes through dense forest. 
    Arrive Dhakuriand pitch the tent. Walk a little further to the top of Dhakuri to get a magnificent view of Nandakot (6880m), Nandakhat (6611m), Panwalidwar (6663m), Changuch (6322m) and Maiktoli (6803m).

  • Dhakuri – Khati (210 Mts.)(09 KS)
    After breakfast, drive to Khati –the biggest and the last village on this route to Pindari Glacier. The village is situated by the side of River Pindar and its residents are believed to be the descendants of the people who had given shelter to Pandavas from the famous Mahabharat epic.

  • Khati – Dwali (2575 Mts.)(11 KS)
    After breakfast, trek to Dwali along the River Pindar. Bypassing many waterfalls and crossing wooden bridges, reach Dwali, a picturesque camping site.

  • Dwali – Phurkia (3206 Mts.)(5 KS)
    After breakfast, trek to Phukria. The last place on this route where one can find KMVN guest house. Frozen streams will follow and dense forests will disappear slowly. Spend some time at the beautiful waterfall justbefore Phurkia. 
    Arrive at Phurkia and pitch the tent.

  • Phurkia – Zero Point (Pindari Glacier)– Phurkia – Dwali(15 KS)
    After breakfast,trek from Phurkia to Zero point, situated at 3660 Mts.The place offers a magnificent view of Pindari Glacier. To trek further from Zero point on Pindari Glacier, special equipment and skills are required. After spending some time here trek back toDwali via Phurkia.

  • Dwali – Kafni Glacier (3860 Mts.) (12 KS)
    To the left of Pindari Glacier is Kafni Glacier. After breakfast, trek to Kafni via Bayaligar. From Kafni Glacier one gets a clear view of Nandakot (6861 Mts.) Pitch the tent here.

    After breakfast, trek back to Dwali.

  • Dwali – Dhakuri (20 KS)
    After breakfast and with packed lunch trek back to Dhakuri, follow the path steep down and reach Dhakuri base.

  • Day 14
  • Dhakuri – Loharkhet – Nainital
    After breakfast follow the downward trail all the way to Loharkhet. 
    Arrive at Loharkhet and after bidding farewell to crew members and lovely ponies, drive to Nainital.
    Arrive in Nainital and check in to the hotel. Day is free to relax.

  • Nainital – Kathgodam (24 KS) - Delhi
    After breakfast, proceed for half day sightseeing of Nainital.
    Post lunch, drive to Kathgodam Railway Station.
    Depart by Shatabdi express train to Delhi. Dinner on board.
    Meet on arrival at Delhi and transfer to the Hotel.

    Meet on arrival and proceed for sightseeing of New Delhi or explore centre of Delhi – Connaught Place
