Nandan Van (A huge grass meadow with many small glacier water streams) is one of the oldest mediation point for Hindu holy man. From here you can see many mountain peaks clearly – Shivling, Bhagirathi I,II,III

The trek from Gangotri till Gaumukh is moderate, from Gaumukh to Nandanvan is tuff, you have to walk and climb moraines to reach Nanda Van.  This is one of the oldest trekking routes in the human civilization. As per Hindu epic, the holy man use to travel from Rishikesh to Gaumukh by walk (Trek) around 3000 years back. Just to touch origins of Ganga river and pray to Gaumukh glacier.

Gomukh, the terminus or snout of the Gangotri Glacier, from where Bhagirathi (Ganga) river originates. The place is situated at a height of 4400 Mts, and cover more than 27 cubic kilometres.

Gomukh, means "Mouth of a Cow". According to some sayings, earlier the snout exactly looked like "Mouth of a Cow".

  • Day 01
  • Arrival Delhi
    Meet on arrival at Delhi International Airport and transfer to the hotel.
    Day is free to relax.
    Overnight in Delhi
  • Day 02
  • Delhi
    After breakfast, proceed for city sightseeing- visit Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Humayun Tomb, Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Parliament House and President’s House.
    Also experience the rickshaw ride through the narrow streets of Chandani Chowk.

  • Delhi – Rishikesh
    After morning tea and cookies, departure transfer to the New Delhi Railway station
    Depart by Shatabdi express train to Haridwar, breakfast on board
    Meet on arrival and drive to Rishikesh. Check in to the hotel.
    Explore the streets of Rishikesh. Visit Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula. 
    Evening: Attend the Ganga Aarti.

  • Rishikesh – Uttarkashi (152 KS)
    After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi, meaning Kashi of the North.  Uttarkashi is also the centre of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, the premier mountaineering institute of India.
    Arrive and check in to camp. Day is free to relax or explore local bazaar.

  • Uttarkashi – Gangotri (98 KS)
    After breakfast, drive to Gangotri. One of the Char Dhams of Uttarakhand, it is situated on the banks of River Bhagirathi.
    Arrive in Gangotri and check in to hotel.
    After getting fresh, proceed to visit Gangotri Temple and Ganga River beach.

    After breakfast, day is free to acclimatize.

  • Gangotri – Bhojbasa (14 KS)
    After early breakfast and with packed lunch, embark on the trek to Bhojbasa via Cheerbasa. It is an easy trek flaunted by the views of Bhagirathi- I, II, III and Shivling peak. Walk along the River Bhagirathi and reach Bhojbasa. Bhojbasa is named after Bhoj trees which are in abundance here.
    Pitch the tent here.

  • Day 08
  • Bhojbasa – Gaumukh – Tapovan (4500 Mts)
    After breakfast and with packed lunch, trek to Gaumukh glacier, one of the sources of River Ganga and origin of River Bhagirathi. 
    After spending some time here, continue trekking towards Tapovan.
    Arrive in Tapovan and pitch the tent.

  • Tapovan
    After breakfast, day is free to explore. Tapovan is a beautiful meadow at the feet of Shivling peak; it also acts as the base camp for Shivling peak climbing expedition.
    Walk a little towards Shivling Mountain climbing route. You may come across many climbers on their way to different peak expeditions. You will also see Lala Baba’s hut, a Sadhu or holy man who stays here round the year.

  • Tapovan –Gangotri
    After breakfast and with packed lunch, trek down to Gangotri.
    Arrive and check in to hotel.
    Day is free to visit the temple and explore the surroundings.

  • Gangotri – Uttarkashi (99 KS)
    After breakfast, say good bye to your crew members and drive to Uttarkashi.
    Arrive in Uttarkashi and check in to camp.

  • Uttarkashi - Haridwar (191 KS)– Delhi
    After breakfast, drive to Haridwar.
    Arrive in Haridwar and check in to the hotel. Day is free to relax or visit Har-ki-Paudi and oldbazaar.
    Evening: Depart by Shatabdi Express train to Delhi. Dinner on board.
    Meet on arrival and transfer to the Hotel.

  • Delhi – Home
    After breakfast, day is free to explore the city with guide.
    After farewell dinner, departure transfer to the International Airport of Delhi.
