A very interesting and challenging trek in Great Himalayan range along the “Markha River”. Panoramic view of great Himalayan range, remotely inhabited villages on high altitudes, and high passes are the main attraction of this trek

The local people here still follow thousands of years old techniques in farming practices and cattle rearing, so that their crops and cattle can survive even in worse weather conditions. It can be a good opportunity to know these tribal people. Old Gompas, colourful praying flags and walking Lamas keep your spirits high.
Check your taste bud at the height of 5000 Meters when our cooks serve you multi cuisine meals (Ladakhi, Tibetan, Indian and Continental).

  • Arrival Delhi
    Meet on arrival and transfer to the Hotel.
    Check in with traditional Indian Welcome at hotel.
    Our executive will be present at the hotel, before your arrival to fulfill all check-in formalities. 
    The hotel will serve you a welcome drink – Rose, Lemon water or soft drinks.

  • Day 02
  • Delhi – Leh
    After bed tea and cookies, departure transfer to the Delhi Airport. Fly to Leh.
    Meet on arrival and transfer to the hotel.
    Day is free to acclimatize.
    Evening: Explore Leh market or surrounding areas on foot.

  • Day 03
  • Leh - Shey - Thiksey - Hemis
    After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of Shey Gompa - the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh.  It was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17th century; Thiksey Gompa - considered to be the most beautiful monastery in Ladakh, it belongs to the Gelukspa order.
    After lunch, proceed to visit Hemis Gompa - One of the most famous and largest monasteries in Ladakh. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17thcentury.

  • Day 04
  • Leh - Spituk (drive) - Trek to Zingchan (3200 Mts)
    After breakfast and with packed lunch, drive to Spituk and visit one of the oldest Gompa of this region, 
    Here, you will be introduced to your crew members including pony man (Ghode Wala
    Roll up your sleeves and start trekking towards Zingchan situated along the River Indus.

  • Day 05
  • Zingchan - Yurutse (3900 Mts) via Rumbak
    After early breakfast and with packed lunch, start trekking towardsYurutse. En route, stop at Rumbak for photography and lunch.  From here one gets fabulous views of the snow-capped Stok Mountains. End your day trek at Yurutse village popular for its cultivation of barley and potatoes.

  • Day 06
  • Yurutse - Skiu (3100 Mts)
    After breakfast, trek to the pass at 4900 Mts altitude called Ganda La.
    Cooking crew will follow at a later time to serve hot lunch with choice of tea and coffee. Stay at the pass for some time and enjoy the beauty of Zanskar Range of Himalayas.
    Post lunch, trek down to Skiu following a narrow gorge.

  • Skiu - Markha (3800 Mts)
    After breakfast and with packed lunch, trek to Markha village following the trail crossing numerous streams. Markha is a quaint village with a deserted fort and a small village.

  • Markha – Thochuntse (4000 Mts)
    After breakfast, trek to Thochuntse. In this trek, at many places you will have to walk bare foot there are many streams to be crossed on en route. This is the last village of Markha Valley.

  • Thochuntse - Nimaling (4700 Mts)
    After breakfast, start the trek on easy trailto reach Nimaling. At Nimalingenjoy the panoramic view of surrounding peaks and passes, Kangyaze peak is one of them.

  • Day 10
  • Nimaling - Kongmaru La (5150 Mts) – Sumdo
    After breakfast and with packed lunch, get ready to climb the highest pass in this trek called 
    Kongmaru La (5300 Mts.)
    Trekking Tips: Drink lots of water and walk slowly.
    Many peaks can be seen from the top of this Pass, on a clear day Mount K2 is visible.
    After spending some time here, trek down to Sumdo village after crossing many streams.

  • Day 11
  • Sumdo - Hemis (04 Hrs) Drive – Leh
    Sumdo to Hemis is a very easy trek which passes through green fields, small villages, apricot trees etc. After breakfast, enjoy the relaxed and easy trekking to Hemis.
    Arrive in Hemis and if time permits visit the Gompa.
    After saying goodbyes to trekking crew members and lovely ponies, drive to Leh.
    Arrive in Leh and check in to hotel.
    Overnight in Leh

  • Leh - Delhi
    After bed tea and cookies, departure transfer to the Leh Airport.
    Fly to Delhi 
    Meet on arrival and transfer to the hotel.
    Day is free for sightseeing or to relax in the hotel.
    After farewell dinner, departure transfer to the International Airport of Delhi.
