This trek, also known as the Shepherds trail trek takes you over Kalihani and Thamsar passes and is limited to experienced trekkers in rugged backcountry and with good know-how of hiking and camping. One of the more challenging routes, it takes one from the lush green Kullu valley to the stark landscapes of Bara Bhangal range.   • Day 01
  • Arrival Delhi
    Meet on arrival and transfer to the Hotel.
    Check in with traditional Indian Welcome at hotel.
    Our executive will be present at the hotel, before your arrival to fulfill all check-in formalities. 
    The hotel will serve you a welcome drink – Rose, Lemon water or soft drinks.

  • Day 02
  • Delhi
    After breakfast, proceed for city sightseeing- visit Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Humayun Tomb, Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Parliament House and President’s House.
    Also experience the rickshaw ride through the narrow streets of Chandani Chowk.

  • Day 03
  • Delhi- Amritsar
    After breakfast, departure transfer to Delhi Airport. Fly to Amritsar.
    Arrive in Amritsar and transfer to the Airport. 
    After getting fresh, visit Jallianwala Bagh and then drive to Wagah Border to attend flag off march at India- Pakistan border.
    Later visit Sri Harmandir Sahib, also called Golden temple.

  • Amritsar- McLeodganj (Upper Dharamsala) (196 KS)
    After breakfast, drive to Mcleodganj (Upper Dharamsala).
    En route visit Masrur, famous for remarkable group of monolithic rock cut temples.
    Drive continues to McLeodganj. Arrive and check in to the hotel.

  • Day 05
  • McLeodganj (Upper Dharamsala)
    After bed tea proceed for, parikrama or circumambulation (an important part of Hinduism and Buddhism) of house and main temple of HH Dalai Lama.
    Return to the hotel for breakfast.
    Day is free to explore the area and local bazaar.

  • Day 06
  • McLeodganj (Upper Dharamsala) – Bir (70 Kms)
    After leisurely breakfast, drive to Bir.
    Upon arrival, check in to hotel. After getting fresh, proceed to visit - TCV Chauntra (Tibetan Children’s Village School) - inaugurated and blessed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 21st November, 2004. 
    Evening is free to take a walk around Kangra Tea Gardens.

  • Bir - Rajgundha
    After breakfast and with packed lunch, start trekking towards Rajguundha. Climb the ridge and then walk through the dense pine forests and by passing beautiful water falls or natural springs.
    Arrive and pitch the tent.

  • Day 08
  • Rajgundha –Plachak
    After breakfast, trek towards Plachak, which is the base of Thamsar Pass. This trail is slightly tough as one has to walk on the snow at some places. Walk for 03 hours and reach Plachak. 
    After pitching the tent at a beautiful sight and having lunch, walk further to have a view of snow- clad mountain peaks. 
    Return to the camp by the evening.

  • Plachak – Barot Valley
    After breakfast, start trekking downhill towards Barot via Rajgundha. Barot is situated at the bank of River Uhl. It is a beautiful walk by the river, lush green farms and lovely valley.
    Arrive and camp by the river side.

  • Rajgundha – Baragram - Palampur
    After breakfast start walking towards Baragram.
    Reach the road end and after bidding farewell to your crew members and lovely ponies, drive to Palampur.
    Arrive and check in to the heritage hotel. Day is free to relax or explore local market.

  • Palampur – Gaggal Airport (Dharamsala)(39 KS)
    After breakfast drive to Gaggal Airport and fly to Delhi
    Meet on arrival and transfer to the hotel.

  • Delhi – Home
    After breakfast, explore centre of Delhi – Connaught Place
    After farewell dinner, departure transfer to the International Airport of Delhi.
